Located in Balclutha, South Otago. Casafuego is a purveyor of hearty European/Mexican cuisine.

Situated at 2 George Street resides the historical 1923 Building, now a retired shell of the former local fire service. After several changes of hands the building sat empty, setting stage for its new venture. In May of 2017 Casafuego’s team decided to re establish its new bones and bring it back to life.

Inspired by Mexican cuisine, with a fusion with Kiwi inspiration, Casafuego was born. The multi-room restaurant offers a range of specially made cocktails from the Bar with complementary pool table (during winter.) Come along for a casual meet up with colleagues, family or friends after a long day. Our three bay dining rooms can seat up to 65 total for all types of functions and food requirments.

Casafuego’s name was derived from the Spanish translation meaning “House of fire” a play on words fire station and spice.

Can’t wait to welcome you to Casafuego!
